Get practical support from our helpdesk when you need it most.
Small charities are the backbone of civil society. They make up the vast majority of organisations in our membership and wider voluntary sector, powered by committed staff and volunteers who are often navigating complex challenges with limited time and resources.
At NCVO, supporting you with practical advice, trusted guidance, and a real person to talk to is at the heart of what we do. Our small charity helpdesk is a key part of that and we’re continuing to strengthen it so we can support more of you, more effectively.
Over recent weeks, we’ve been evolving how the helpdesk operates as part of wider organisational changes. Throughout this time, the service has remained open, with enquiries continuing to be actively managed.
We're pleased to say that the work we’re doing is positively improving the services we deliver. While demand remains steady, response times are faster.
With nearly 200 enquiries from small charities in March alone, you can expect rapid responses from our committed team of experts on a wide range of topics - from top tips for finding grants to recruiting and retaining volunteers.
When you reach out to our helpdesk, our focus is simple: make it easier for you to get the support you need, when you need it, as quickly as we can. That means:
We know that you’re often dealing with something urgent or complex. Our aim is to provide you with clarity, confidence and practical help.
We want demand for support to continue to grow, because we know the help is needed. So, alongside maintaining a high-quality, personal service, we’re improving how we share guidance, connect you to trusted partners and sector friends and make the most of the deep knowledge of our staff.
