Small Charity Week 2024

Small Charity Week 2024 is fast approaching. Join us from the 24 to 28 June to celebrate small charities across the UK.

In our recent small charity survey, you told us the areas you need support with right now. We identified five key themes which we’ll be exploring across the week through events, webinars and resources.

  • Monday 24 June: Funding and fundraising
  • Tuesday 25 June: Digital and technology
  • Wednesday 26 June: Strategy and evaluation
  • Thursday 27 June: Marketing and communications

Energy support surgeries

Utility Aid is offering one-to-one 20-minute surgeries on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 June for Small Charity Week. Surgeries are a chance for small charities to speak to a trained advisor about energy use.

Utility Aid can support with queries about:

  • VAT
  • energy usage and meter profiles
  • billing issues
  • working towards net-zero
  • navigating the energy market.

Volunteers’ Week 2024

Get ready for the 40th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week, taking place from 3 to 9 June!

New resources are now available to download from the Volunteers’ Week website. Resources include thank you cards and certificates for volunteers, guidance on using the new Volunteers’ Week brand, and social media assets to help spread the word.

The Big Help Out 2024

The Big Help Out takes place from 7 to 9 June, at the end of Volunteers' Week. This year the campaign focuses on supporting under-represented communities in volunteering.

Free consultancy support

We can offer support to help you plan and deliver your Big Help Out activities. For example, you might be interested in:

  • hosting an event to attract new volunteers
  • developing a flexible 'action' that people can do to show support for your cause
  • advertising your volunteering opportunities on the Big Help Out digital platform.

The Vision for Volunteering

The Vision for Volunteering is offering two free training sessions in June for those who engage with volunteers.

  • Community reporting training12 June, 14.00 to 17.00. Learn how to collect and present stories of lived experience to help support your work.
  • Ripple effect mapping18 June, 10.00 to 11.30. Learn how to visually measure the impact of your work with volunteers.

Digital Candle is a collective of over 300 volunteer experts from across the digital sector. They offer up to one hour of free expert digital advice, specifically tailored for charities. No question is too broad or too niche.
