New data legislation
The data protection and digital information bill was reintroduced last week. It was first introduced last summer and paused in September 2022. It will replace the EU’s GDPR regulation on data protection.
The EU retained law bill is in the House of Lords committee stage. The bill seeks to revoke thousands of pieces of EU legislation. Charities are concerned about legislation falling away with lack of proper scrutiny. This could potentially have wide-ranging implications for people, organisations and the environment.
We’ll continue working to make sure the perspectives of charities are represented.
