Volunteers' Week

Volunteers' Week is an annual celebration of volunteers across the UK. This year marked the 40th anniversary of the campaign, which ran from Monday 3 to Sunday 9 June.

For guidance and resources to help you celebrate and thank your volunteers all year round, visit the Volunteers' Week website.

The Big Help Out

The Big Help Out is a campaign to showcase how volunteering benefits both communities and the people who take part. It’s all about providing opportunities for people to experience volunteering and make a difference in their communities.

The campaign launched with a national day of volunteering in May 2023, which engaged six million people. This year’s Big Help Out took place at the end of Volunteers' Week, over the weekend of 7–9 June.

For more information about the campaign, visit The Big Help Out website.

National Volunteering Forum

Our National Volunteering Forum brings together volunteer-involving organisations and volunteer infrastructure bodies from around England to:

  • discuss issues of shared concern
  • feed into NCVO’s policy positions
  • network.

We run two events every year which are open to members.

Vision for volunteering

The Vision for Volunteering is a 10-year collaborative project designed to create a better future for volunteering.

Together with our partners the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action, Volunteering Matters, and the Association of Volunteer Managers, we launched the Vision in May 2022.
