Fundraising events

From charity balls to bake sales, fundraising events exist at all sizes. You can run them yourselves or have volunteers run them for you.

• You have a good network of supporters who can help plan the event and persuade other people to take part
• You want to make strong connections with people who attend
• You can get lots of elements of the event donated so that ticket sales, raffles etc can all go towards funding your organisation with your local community

OR

• If you want to do larger scale events, you have a team who can work out budgets to pay for elements of the event and still raise money.

• To run a successful event you need to do risk assessments and often need to check licensing laws. The Code of Fundraising Practice is quite formal but has some good guidance.
