Closing down: What to do if you own land or property

This page is free to all

The legal requirements for selling, leasing or transferring land and property depend on:

  • your organisation’s legal form
  • the circumstances by which you acquired the land or property
  • the requirements in your governing documents.

Specific rules can govern when you sell land and property for less than market rate and when you sell to someone connected to your charity.

You should always seek specialist advice and guidance.
