Helen Tourle

Helen leads our volunteering consultancy work. She’s experienced in supporting and developing volunteering programmes for charities of all sizes. She also has experience in development and delivery across all aspects of volunteer management.

Helen’s background includes time in integrated participation, involvement and volunteering teams. She brings an involvement approach to her consultancy with NCVO. This includes creating diverse and meaningful opportunities for volunteers to shape projects.

Helen is an active volunteer herself. She’s a trustee of a special educational needs (SEN) charity, and a previous volunteer for NCT, the Wildlife Trust, Museums Sheffield, and the National Trust.

• Citywise Mentoring: Conducting a compliance review, producing a volunteering policy and updating supporting processes to ensure safe volunteer involvement.
• We Are With You (previously Addaction): Delivering training on volunteer management best practice.
• The Royal Parks: Writing and delivering bespoke training for a newly formed team managing volunteers.
• Cloverleaf Advocacy: Leading an audit of volunteering policy and process. Updating the volunteering policy and handbook, with participation from volunteer managers, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
