Membership refusal appeal process

If an organisation has been refused NCVO membership, that organisation has the right to appeal. If you wish to make an appeal, email membership@ncvo.org.uk with:

• the date of application
• the name of organisation applying
• the reason given for refusal
• a short written response to the refusal reason setting out the grounds for appeal.

Following receipt of your appeal, your organisations will either be accepted into NCVO membership or an appeal panel will be created. The appeal panel will be made up of three NCVO trustees who did not not take part in the original refusal decision.

The appeal panel will receive and review the appeal and a summary case.

They will either:

• uphold the refusal to accept the application, or;
• override the refusal and the accept the application.

The decision of the appeal panel is final.
