Membership Assistant

About the role

Join NCVO as a Membership Assistant and play a key role in supporting the smooth daily running of our membership programme. As part of the Member Services team, you'll provide essential administrative and customer support, managing membership applications and renewals, maintaining accurate CRM records and responding to member enquiries across phone and email channels.

Alongside these core operations, you'll also support projects that help grow and diversify our membership community, contributing to initiatives that strengthen engagement across the voluntary sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Administer membership applications and renewals accurately and efficiently, and respond to member enquiries professionally via phone and email.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records to support reporting and insight.
  • Support membership development initiatives reaching new and diverse audiences, while collaborating with the Membership and Membership Development teams to support growth and retention goals.
  • Assist with membership financial processes, including invoicing, payments and refunds.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is organised, customer-focused and enjoys working with systems and data, while also contributing to wider membership development work.

Your background

  • Experience in administrative, membership or customer service roles.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer support.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Dynamics experience helpful).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy team environment.
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to team objectives.

This role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in membership operations and development while supporting NCVO’s vibrant community of member organisations and contributing to their ongoing engagement and growth.

About the team

Membership and Customer Services is a newly evolved team that exists to grow, connect and convene NCVO’s membership. The team acquires roughly 1,400 new members a year and offers care and support to retain 90% of its current 17K members.
