An excellent opportunity to progress your HR career in a demanding generalist role. You have excellent communication and influencing skills and build strong working relationships, acting as the first point of contact for all employment matters.

You are responsible for working closely with our payroll provider to ensure the data they receive is accurate and you are competent in querying their calculations*. You also lead on administering pension contributions, calculating staff entitlements eg annual leave and bank holiday entitlements for part-time staff, and other employee benefits. These two areas of work are essential parts of your role, requiring you to be highly numerate and have excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

You will also lead our recruitment process, including issuing contracts and conducting inductions. Working closely with line managers and our web support team, you’ll help make the recruitment process a positive and professional experience.

Knowledgeable in HR databases, you ensure our employee records are up-to-date and correct. Your skills in MS Office packages will be used to collate and analyse data to draft reports and to inform our work and planning.

You are diplomatic and understand the importance of confidentiality.  With good knowledge of employment law, you are pragmatic in the advice you give and in how to implement our policies and procedures.

This role is challenging and you will be efficient in managing competing priorities, deadlines and a busy workload. You are likely to be part-qualified or working towards your CIPD qualification.

You would be joining a high-performing and busy organisation and work with friendly colleagues. NCVO is based in modern offices in King’s Cross.

*You are not expected to calculate tax or NI.

This post was previously advertised in April. Previous applicants need not apply.
