By expressing interest in this role, you’ve already demonstrated the curiosity and drive I’m looking for in our next Chief Commercial Officer, so we’re off to a strong start.
Everyone claims their role is special, but this truly is a unique opportunity. As CCO at NCVO, you will not only be responsible for driving the income growth that enables us to deliver meaningful, lasting impact, but you will also work directly with our members and the wider sector.
The key question at the heart of this role is: how can you, and your teams, use your commercial expertise to strengthen the entire voluntary sector? Firstly, that is by strengthening NCVO’s financial pipeline so we can plan for the long-term. Over time you will also explore how, through activities such as influencing legislative change, building members capability and confidence, piloting new approaches or creating powerful new networks, you can build the commercial strength of the whole sector.
Your impact will be both far-reaching and highly visible. You won’t just strengthen NCVO; you will play a direct role in shaping and supporting the future of the UK charity sector. That is what makes this role so special.
You will be joining an already strong and collaborative leadership team across Commercial, Funding and Partnerships, and Membership; so this role is firmly focused on strategic growth. There is a genuine opportunity to double NCVO’s income within five years, but achieving this will require clear strategic vision, sophisticated internal and external coordination, strong governance, and rigorous accountability.
We’re looking for a leader with a proven track record of growing sustainable income, whether through commercial enterprise, fundraising, or a blend of both, alongside the ability to demonstrate system-level thinking, innovation, and a partnership-driven approach.
You’ll be joining NCVO at one of the most exciting moments in our recent history, while also stepping into a period of real challenge for UK civil society. With a new strategy about to launch, this is a rare opportunity to help shape something ambitious, meaningful, and transformative.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
Kate Lee
