Dominic Fox

Finance and commercial committee member

Dominic has spent almost his entire career in the charity sector, as a community activist, practitioner and latterly as a Chief Executive in a variety of organisations such as Kings Cross Homelessness Project, National Homeless Alliance, the Children’s Centre Project at the National Children’s Bureau, and the Kidsactive charity providing play opportunities for disabled children and a government-backed nationwide consultancy promoting inclusion policies. At Hoffmann Foundation for Autism, Dominic oversaw a 24-hour, 365-day operation including a day centre and five residential homes for adults with autism and learning disabilities and a psychology department. At the Stone Ashdown Trust, he managed a programme of grant giving to the voluntary sector across the UK. Dominic was CEO of the ACO, the umbrella body for occupational benevolent funds and charities giving grants and welfare support to individuals in need for over eight years before retiring at the end of 2019.

Dominic has extensive experience as a trustee. This includes being first Chair of self-help homelessness charity Groundswell UK, he was also a committee member of the Poverty Strategy Group at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, and a founding trustee of London Funders an umbrella body for charities and local authorities in the capital. Dominic has a long association with the NCVO and served as a trustee of the organisation, and Director and Vice Chair of NCVO Trading Ltd. In addition to his duties as an independent member of the Finance and Commercial committee at NCVO, he is a board member of the Lewisham Irish Community Centre and trustee of the Hospital Saturday Fund and vice chair of the HSF grants committee.
