NCVO is seeking a chair who can work effectively and collaboratively with the trustees, chief executive and senior leadership team to ensure NCVO achieves the biggest possible impact for its members and the wider sector.

NCVO is the largest network for charities and volunteering. Throughout our 100-year history we have represented, supported and championed the work of voluntary organisations and volunteers. We now work with over 15,000 member organisations, from the biggest household-name charities to the smallest community groups. We believe charities can change people’s lives – and that getting involved in your community can change your own life.

This is a pivotal time for charities and volunteering. Civil society faces new challenges and opportunities. To play its part with impact, NCVO also needs to change. We have already started our strategic review and are looking for a new chair to join us to help translate our aspirations into tangible goals.

You will be a champion for everything positive about civil society. You will play a key role in holding us to account and ensuring we live our values. You will have the skills to lead the board effectively and experience of creating a diverse, inclusive culture. Working with the board and the CEO you will lead and embed change in a manner which inspires, motivates and engages different audiences.
