Amanda is the executive director people and OD at The Royal British Legion, with strategic responsibility for the organisations people function and organisational change and development.
Prior to joining the Legion, Amanda was the people director at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and has held senior HR roles across a number of businesses in the public, private and third sector during her 30 year HR career. This has included working as the first HR Director at The Francis Crick Institute, as well as working as director of corporate services for a global renewables product business.
Amanda is a long time volunteer and supporter of charitable organisations, having initially volunteered in her late teens with sexual health charities and more recently as the chair of governors for a local secondary school and as chair of a small charity in her village. She is currently a non-executive director at the Disclosure & Barring Service.
Amanda is a chartered fellow of the CIPD and a fellow of the RSA. She hopes to bring her experience and passion for better work and working lives to the NCVO as an independent committee member.
Amanda lives in the Cotswolds with her husband, dog and chickens. At weekends, she can be found cheering on Gloucester rugby and cricket teams as a season ticket holder.
