Having begun her career in Local Government 20 years ago, Edith has held roles working in community development, working with local communities and voluntary organisations to co-design solutions to their priorities and provide a voice for those not always heard.
Edith has used this as an essential foundation within her role of Head of Policy, Equalities and Communities at Redbridge Council from 2017-2022. Here she was the lead officer, responsible for providing the council with policy advice across a range of areas, driving innovation and improvement.
Overseeing the corporate community sector grants programme, she built relationships to enhance and empower the local community and voluntary sector, whilst also supporting the sector through the Covid response.
Edith’s current role as Head of Organisational Development at Waltham Forest Council provides her with skills in leadership development and culture change to support the Governance and People Committee as an Independent Member.
Edith is passionate about working to empower the voluntary and community sector, volunteering as trustee and vice chair of Funders Together, a cross-sector network for funders in civil society.
