Kate Lee OBE

Chief Executive Officer

Kate joined NCVO in 2025, bringing nearly 30 years’ experience of leadership across the voluntary sector. She has a track record of guiding organisations through major challenges, delivering transformational culture change and building inclusive, results-focused teams.

Before NCVO, Kate was Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s largest voluntary provider of dementia support. She led the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic, introduced a new strategy centred on people affected by dementia, and strengthened its finances and research investment.

Kate has also held senior leadership roles at Young Lives vs Cancer (CLIC Sargent), where she doubled income and secured government-funded funerals for children under 18; at Myton Hospice, where she expanded palliative care services; and at British Red Cross, where she rose to Director of Strategy, shaping UK and international humanitarian response.

She was awarded an OBE in 2024 for services to charity and has twice been named Charity Times CEO of the Year.
