B5: The shadow trustee: when does advising become undue influence?

NCVO icons governance

This session will explore the key interrelationship between trustees and senior managers.

In the wake of the insolvency service writing to both the former trustees and the paid chief executive of Kids Company, outlining its intention to bring disqualification as company director proceedings against them, we will consider whether we need to think differently about the CEO’s role in a modern charity, and consider if and how can we delineate between the responsibilities of board members and senior managers. How do staff avoid becoming shadow or de-facto trustees?
