Popular opinion says that ‘volunteering is good for your health’ and organisations constantly refer to the benefits of volunteering to the individual. It has been suggested that volunteering can reduce isolation, improve mental health, advance employment prospects and increase our happiness! But is this always the case? And what does this mean for managing happy volunteers in our organisations? How do we genuinely promote wellbeing?

Join us and a panel of experts at the next National Volunteering Forum to:

  • explore current thinking about wellbeing and volunteering
  • take a look at the evidence – it is really all so positive?
  • consider examples of organisations that understand the relationship between volunteering and wellbeing
  • consider how our organisations can practically promote wellbeing through volunteering.

Who should attend?

Volunteer-involving organisations and volunteer infrastructure bodies from around England.

Who runs it?

The volunteering development unit within NCVO.

  • NCVO members: Free
  • Non-members: £40

The forum is free to NCVO members but there is a small charge for non-members to help cover costs.

Please note members and non-members will be charged the full non-member fee for non-attendance unless NCVO is given seven working days’ notice prior to the event.
