This hands-on one day course includes:
- how to apply social enterprise models in the context of your charity
- a step by step process for researching, planning and setting up an income generating initiative
- a wealth of case studies and examples to learn from and spark your imagination
- how to draw on the Social Lean Canvas and other practical tools to apply in your context
- words of wisdom and common pitfalls taken from others’ experience
- practice of giving a one-minute pitch of your idea to your board.

Who should attend?
Managers, staff, volunteers or trustees who are at the early stages of developing earned income and enterprise activity.
This course is particularly suitable for existing charities and voluntary organisations that would like to start a new trading activity, as we spend some time looking at existing organisational culture and harnessing internal support.
Who runs it?
Clare Sharpen is a CIPD qualified trainer with over 12 years' experience of working in the voluntary and social enterprise sectors. Clare has worked at a senior level on the management and boards of charities and social enterprises and has a strong track record of managing complex voluntary sector projects. She brings practical expertise and first-hand experience into her training delivery.
Our pricing structure is based on your organisation’s gross annual income. We also offer a 30% discount for NCVO members. Please note, if your organistion is not VAT registered, you will need to select 'register as an individual' on the order form.
