Become a Children's University Trustee

We are looking for dynamic and motivated people who share the values of Children's University and are committed to the aims and objectives of CU Trust to further strengthen and diversify our charity Board.

We are particularly looking for candidates who can deepen our expertise in these key skill areas:

  • Fund-raising and securing philanthropic investment
  • Strong corporate/private sector links
  • Current education landscape
  • Digital learning/education experience
  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing
  • Strategic monitoring and evaluation

About Children's University

Children's University works nationally with children aged 5-14 to encourage, track and celebrate the learning that they do outside school. We work with more than 1,000 schools and over 15,000 learning activities to engage more than 100,000 children every year in learning beyond the curriculum. With a focus on children facing disadvantage, Children's University’s impact is shown to improve attendance, learning in school and attainment as well as boosting confidence and aspiration. CU Trust is the charity that sits at the heart of a network of more than 80 local Children’s Universities.

About your Motivation

We are looking for high-calibre candidates who have proven success in their own field of work and who, in addition, are passionate about:

  • boosting the self-confidence, resilience and cultural capital of children regardless of their background

About you as a Person

There is no need to have trustee experience to apply. We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of gender, age, disability, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, race or religion and belief. However, we would like to have more Board representation of women, people from ethnic minority backgrounds, younger Trustees and from the LGBTQ community, so we particularly encourage applications from these groups of people. However appointment will be based solely on merit.
