Nominations for NCVO’s trustee board and Nominations Committee

We need our members to help identify outstanding individuals to join our board and nominations committee and help NCVO make the biggest difference we can.

We champion the work of charities and volunteers, community groups and social enterprises, and provide them with the support they need to make a bigger difference. We have been doing this for 100 years, and we combine our experience with a thirst for impact and innovation.

Our network of over 15,000 members are a force for change, and that starts with our board of trustees. In our experience, good governance is a crucial ingredient to effective, impactful organisations, and that includes boards whose trustees have different backgrounds and experience.

What are we looking for?

As part of our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, NCVO wants to strengthen the board to better reflect the diversity of our society.

We will do this by seeking to elect trustees who bring different backgrounds, perspectives and lived experience as well as a range of skills. This year we have four trustee board vacancies coming up, with trustees both retiring and standing for re-election.

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience of volunteering leadership and management and from marginalised communities, who are currently underrepresented on our board.

We are also seeking two new member representatives for NCVO’s nominations committee. The member representatives on the committee are currently Dominic Fox, former Association of Charitable Organisations (ACO) chief executive, and Jo Ash, Southampton Voluntary Services chief executive. Their second term of three years ends at the AGM in November 2020. They cannot stand for re-election.

Is this you or do you know someone who fits the bill and would make an outstanding trustee for NCVO? Nominations will close on Monday 17 August 2020.

Who can nominate a candidate?
