Setting up and managing a peer mentoring or peer support programme in schools and colleges (PDF)

Designed to assist people working in schools or colleges to design, plan and introduce a project which involves students supporting their peers in relation to a range of issues. It explores the range of peer support roles which can be undertaken by students and practical advice on how to set up a sustainable support programme. It contains templates for you to adapt and develop for use within your own project. It covers the implementation of a safe, sustainable support programme where the main resource is the young people themselves. It has been developed using materials from MBF's 'Peer mentoring resource pack' and the Childline – CHIPs 'Peer Support Toolkit'.
This toolkit will help you meet aspects of the Approved Provider Standard (APS), specifically elements 1-12 (previous version) and requirements 1-10 (revised version).
