B2: Building our equality, diversity and inclusion capabilities: Why we urgently need to change our approach and how

NCVO icons governance

Have you wondered why our sector has not made significant strides when it comes to equality diversity and inclusion (EDI)? It’s time to come clean about what is holding us back.

Recent research has shown that staff lack confidence in their Executive and Trustees to actively lead for diversity. The same research has shown that staff lack confidence in their current volunteers with regards to EDI.  Misinterpretation of data on diversity in volunteering reinforces a cognitive bias but we can break through this by building our leadership capability in EDI. This workshop will show you how volunteering is the real key to transforming your people strategy.

This workshop will be chaired by Dr Helen Timbrell, an independent consultant working with the voluntary sector on people and organisational development.  Helen has previously held Director level roles in national charities, having spent over 15 years working and volunteering in the sector. She will be joined by  Natasha Bromfield-Reid, Diversity Advisor, National Centre for Diversity.
