Employer Supported Volunteering: the good, the bad and the way forward.

A successfully managed employer supported volunteering programme can be a fulfilling experience for everyone. This could be an organisation encouraging their own staff to volunteer in their own time. Or providing volunteering leave so that staff can volunteer in work time. It might be a formal ongoing partnership between a business and a charity or might take the form of a one-off corporate team day. But what does ‘good’ look like? How do we avoid the ‘bad’? How do we provide a meaningful volunteering experience that benefits all? What are the options, and what might the way forward for your organisation be?

Join us and a panel of experts at the next National Volunteering Forum to:

  • Look at the research that has been done
  • Look at experiences of volunteers and organisations
  • Consider the issues and potential pitfalls
  • Question how to provide meaningful volunteering for staff
  • Consider brokerage options for ESV

Who should attend?

The National Volunteering Forum (NVF) brings together volunteer-involving organisations and volunteer infrastructure bodies from around England to discuss issues of shared concern, feed into NCVO’s policy positions and to network. We run three events every year including at least one outside of London.

Who runs it?

The Volunteering Development Unit within NCVO.

Booking

  • NCVO members: Free
  • Non-members: £40

The forum is free to NCVO members but there is a small charge for non-members to help cover costs.

We would like to give an opportunity for the maximum number of organisations to benefit from this NVF and therefore there is a limit of 2 free member tickets per organisation.

These events are very popular so please let us know if you are unable to attend. Members and non-members will be charged the full non-member fee unless you let us know seven days before the event.
