John Carlin, Volunteer Centre and Quality Standards Manager
John leads NCVO’s volunteer centre and quality standards unit. He has overall responsibility for managing and developing NCVO’s suite of quality standards: APS, IiV, IiVE, PQASSO and VCQA, to meet the changing needs of organisations in the voluntary, statutory and private sectors.
He recently led the successful development and delivery of a new model for volunteer centre quality accreditation in consultation with members, and is exploring the opportunities for other programmes to develop the work and impact of volunteer centres.
He also leads NCVO’s strategy for maximising the impact and sustainability of volunteer centres and other local volunteering infrastructure organisations in England. The aim is to improve the support available to them.
John was formerly the infrastructure development manager at Volunteering England and before that the development manager at West London Network. John joined NCVO as quality programme manager in 2011, becoming NCVO’s volunteer centre support manager in 2013.
Trish Kiss, Investing in Volunteers Programme Manager
Trish is NCVO’s Investing in Volunteers Programme Manager and a main part of her role is promoting good practice in volunteer management to organisations that involve volunteers. Trish has a degree in Volunteer Management and has extensive experience of running volunteer programmes within both the voluntary sector and the public sector, particularly prisons and probation. In her spare time Trish acts as a career mentor to young women across the globe.

Nadeem Razvi, PQASSO Programme Manager
Nadeem is the PQASSO programme manager at NCVO, a main part of his role is helping organisations achieve and maximise their potential by applying effective quality assurance. Nadeem has worked in the charity sector for over 10 years; with his team and in partnership with LB Waltham Forest, they devised and delivered the innovative and award-winning 'Furnishing the Future' project.
