Members' Assembly

Engaging with our 14,000 members face-to-face is core to our work as a membership organisation. We hold 10 meetings throughout the year, aiming to reach all nine English regions.

The meetings enable us to gather vital intelligence from the sector and understand the challenges that voluntary organisations face, which informs all our work. Our assemblies are also a great opportunity for our members to network with each other, share ideas about current issues and talk directly to NCVO staff about how we can support them.

Our next meeting will take place in Lincoln on Monday 29 July

What we've learned from our members in 2019

Oxford

In February we met with members in Oxford to shared our Time Well Spent and deliver bite-sized training on Investing in Volunteers and how to keep volunteers engaged. Read our blog post on the things we learned.

Bradford

In March we went to Bradford to talk to members about collaboration and volunteer management. Read what our biggest assembly yet had to share with us in this blog post.

Southampton

In May we met with members in Southampton to talk about funding, finances and the future. Many members agreed that staying financially sustainable was the challenge of a voluntary organisation’s lifetime and all were looking for resources to simplify the practical detail of finance. Read more about the lessons learned.

Ellesmere Port

In June we visited Ellesmere Port to deliver bite-sized training and update on what NCVO is working on to help organisations understand and undertake safeguarding. We gathered vital intelligence from members in Cheshire and heard about the challenges they face, as well as their great triumphs and achievements.
