Coronavirus: Advice for your organisation

Volunteering and coronavirus: Supporting the booster campaign and other ways you can help.

Running to do good

Good Gym combines doing good with running and getting fit. Volunteers stop off on runs to do physical tasks for community organisations and support isolated older people with social visits and one-off tasks, such as changing a lightbulb, doing some gardening or moving furniture.

GoodGym is now open in 53 areas across the UK including in London and Bristol, and has been commissioned by local authorities and the NHS. It describes itself as "a new model of voluntary action that focuses on our experiences as volunteers and runners. Because it fits into our lives it’s easier for us to commit for the longer term, it makes it easy for us to keep going."

Mission beneficiary, Mr C - "It is more than just clearing the garden, it is giving me hope. I am now really looking forward and hoping to sit in the garden in springtime and enjoy the outside."
