The amazing inventions that are improving the quality of life for disabled people - designed by volunteers

Remap is a charity which helps disabled people live more independent lives. It has a network of hundreds of skilled volunteers who design and custom-make equipment for them. They provide solutions to everyday problems when there is nothing commercially available. They respond to thousands of requests for help every year and provide the service free of charge.

Remap volunteers help people with a range of disabilites including mental and physical conditions.

Recent award winners include a device to enable blind ten pin bowling, a portable small speech amplifier for a little boy with a voice problem and a railway-inspired turntable that enables a wheelchair-bound man to leave the house.
