There has rightly been a lot of coverage of the appalling instances of abuse and misuse of power that have been in the press over the past few weeks. Instances of inadequate safeguarding have been unearthed in organisations large and small, working in international development and providing services closer to home.

What has been discussed less widely is the work that organisations are already doing to embed a culture of safeguarding and transparency into all that they do, and how other organisations, and the sector more widely, can learn from this.

These are not issues that are faced by the voluntary sector alone – churches, schools, Westminster and the media all face similar issues. We will discuss how charities can move past these cases of abuse, and lead by example.

How to get involved

We very much welcome attendees from the voluntary sector.

Meetings usually take the form of presentations by speakers and then a Q&A with the floor. However, parliamentarians do have priority in asking questions.
